Live Remote Monitoring
Monitoring and long term tracking for Solar and photovoltaic Energy systems.

Solar systems require continuous monitoring during their
20 to 25 year life to make sure all the financial milestones are reached and a
maximum and fast Return of Investment is achieved. Statistically any renewable energy system that is not being monitoring severely will reduce its ROI after the first few years.
In general solar failures are very silent. There’s no noise, or smoke (hopefully!!) or moving parts that we can see or check if they have stopped working. But this is not all, the misleading thing here is that the business or home owner still has access to electrical power to do everyday chores so it is even more difficult to detect potential failures.
(Accumulative generation over the years)
With an average life of 20 to 25 for any solar installation, the possibility of having some kind of failure during that period are high. Statistically 1 or 2 to say the least. If to this we add on average weeks if not months before the owner realises something is not right… you can start now see very clearly the cost of not monitoring your investment. A visit from a service engineer will probably cost more than a monitoring system costs.
Can you really afford not to monitor your investment?
If you invest in the stock market, you would look everyday to some kind of Live Dashboard like the news or Internet, but why not on renewable energy installations like wind and solar? Shouldn’t we have this information always on a our mobile phone?
Monitoring and long terms tracking for Wind Turbines
The variety of possible solutions for wind measurement and Wind Monitoring is wide big, and solutions depend very much on the circumstances of your site, complexity of the terrain, wind turbine blade size, tower height, turbine characteristics and performance, Cps, and the list goes on… and of course budget.
A wind turbine is a good investment that if done properly will provide very good revenue stream over the next 20 to 25 years. However careful consideration should be given to all the points above, mostly:
• Wind energy available from the wind at your site or farm
• Wind profile and turbulence, the more aggressive the wind the more servicing your wind turbine will need. … And aggresive wind does not mean more energy output
• Match your site’s wind profile to the right wind turbine and height
• How is the wind turbine going to be monitored after installation? How are targets and financial milestones tracked?
All these things are key aspects to take onto consideration before investing on a wind turbine to make sure it is a successful investment. In the UK the average length of a marriage is 24 years and statistically speaking, we do spend a lot of years researching before finally committing!
Jokes aside, why should we be less careful when looking to commit to a renewable energy investment?
From experience gained with other wind turbine owners, we have put together
typical packages for different sizes of wind turbines that allows you to take an
informed decision and
track the wind turbine afterwards.. These are just
guide lines and you should always consult with a Wind Analyst or Consultant to give you the best advice. Every project is different and a little bit of time and patience doing your research beforehand will result in better decisions.
These are just wind measurement and logging guide lines:
Between 5Kw and 20kW or so. These are a substantial economic investment and tend to be installed at higher heights between 10 meters and 30 meters. For these wind turbines it is best to monitor at two heights to find out wind shear, turbulence, different options of towers, blades.
Circa 50kW wind turbines will require a calibrated system and minimum two heights measurement. The blade diameter of these wind turbines is considerably bigger than many smaller wind turbines and wind turbulence has a key impact here. We need to make sure the wind turbine works with the wind and does not fight against it. Wind turbulence analysis is very important.
Over 100kW and 500kW wind turbines. We will always recommend that a wind analyst or consultant specifies the system for your wind logging and monitoring study. In general it will be a minimum of 3 heights measurement and probably some extra meteorological sensors like pressure ante temperature. We have put together examples of kits
Over 500kW wind turbines, get in contact with us. We will refer you to different consultants that will be able to help you.
Live Displays & Dashboards
Having reliably captured the energy consumption and or power production data, it is then transmitted, secured and archivedon the Logic Energy web servers. Then, in near real time this data is converted into meaningful, power consumption / energy production graphics, web reports and dashboards. Each display is tailored to meet the needs of the audience to provide insight, education and even aid in selecting the most appropriate renewable energy device based on historical data and performance averages.
Logic Energy displays are used :
in schools
in business
community groups
people passionate about their energy devices
